TONOVET® uses a new-patented tehnology based on “rebound” method:


  • A very light probe makes momentary contact with the central cornea.
  • This rapid process will not create any discomfort to the patient - the animal does hardly realise the probe has touched the eye, most animals do not even blink.


Measurement of intraocular pressure:

• Annual monitoring of breeds predisposed to glaucoma
Red eye cases
Head trauma
Eye trauma
Geriatric exams as well as nurse clinics

The different cases of glaucoma (primary, secondary and congenital) cannot be cured but can be controlled. Early detection is the only way of controlling glaucoma.



Following dog and cat breeds are known to have a predisposition to glaucoma:


Afghan, Akita, Alaskan Malamute, Basset Hound, Beagle, Border Collie, Boston, Terrier,

Scottish Terrier, Shih Tzu, Siberian Husky, Wire-Haired Fox Terrier, Tibetan Terrier, West
Highland White Terrier, Whippet, Smooth-Coated Fox Terrier, Persans, Siamese.
