The PetMap Classic™ provides systolic, diastolic, mean arterial pressure, and heart rate using a proprietary new oscillometric technology for enhanced sensitivity, accuracy, and performance. 

 

The PetMap Classic™ is based on intra-arterial measurements.

 

About the oscillometric method:

 

Oscillometric Blood Pressure is determined based on arterial wall pulsations. The re-entry of blood into the arteries occluded by the cuff makes the wall of the arteries expand or "pulse". These pulsations travel through the soft tissue to the surface of the limb where they are detected by the cuff and analyzed by the microprocessor. This analysis provides systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressure readings along with heart rate.

 

The PetMap Classic™ would be developed in 2005. It is a very accurate device for blood pressure measurement on cats and dogs. It would be tested by several veterinarians in the USA and also from a French cardiologist.

The PetMap Classic™ is an easy-to-use device and will be delivered with seven cuffs in different sizes. You can perform measurements without clipping or using gel.
